Sally Adkins
Water with my bones, water with my mouth and my understanding (II)
Created by, Sally Adkins
Sally Adkins is an artist printmaker based within walking distance of the River Derwent, on the edge of the Peak District. A multi-disciplinary printmaker, she works predominantly in the age-old tradition of acid-based etching, harnessing established techniques to develop finely etched, expressive metal plates. She also specialises in monotypes and contemporary interventions in print. Her practice is currently focussed on the movement of river water as it journeys: through extensive walks and exploration, drawings in response to place and expressing this dialogue with the river in print. The work equally responds to the aural waterscape and rhythm of Alice Oswald’s acclaimed contemporary poetry.
